Cannabigerol (CBG) is one of the minor cannabinoids present at the Cannabis sativa plant. It is extracted from cannabigerolic acid, a substance that abounds in the early stages of plant growth. Subsequently, most of Cannabigerol is becoming another more common cannabinoid, such as CBD. There is only a really small percentage of CBG, about 1%. This contributes to the price of this cannabinoid, compared to the CBD. You have to process 20 times more biomass to obtain the same amount of CBG in proportion to CBD.

The shortage of CBG -oriented hemp strains is another problematic factor. While CBD and THC strains are abundant, research to develop CBG -centered genetics has been limited.

If the CBG is so difficult to obtain, why extract it?
